McHenry man indicted on child pornography charges

A 27-year-old McHenry man was indicted Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Rockford on child pornography charges, the United States Attorney's Office announced in a news release.

Michael L. Chaparro was charged with transporting child pornography via the Internet and accessing child pornography that had crossed state lines with intent to view the child pornography, according to the release. One of the images that had crossed state lines was of a prepubescent minor under the age of 12, according to the release.

Chaparro's arraignment is set for March 3 at 3 p.m. in Rockford's Federal Courthouse before U.S. Magistrate Iain D. Johnston.
