Woodstock man charged with sexual assault of child
A 37-year-old Woodstock man accused of inappropriately touching a child younger than 13 in late December was arrested Thursday, police said.
Anthony V. Ferrara was charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
According to police, the investigation began on Dec. 27 when a child Ferrara knows reported having been inappropriately touched by him on or about Dec. 26 at Ferrara's residence.
Ferrara's bond was set Friday at $150,000. As of Saturday evening, he remained in custody at the McHenry County jail.
Ferrara's next court appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, March 3, at the McHenry County Government Center in Woodstock.
The investigation culminating in Ferrara's arrest was conducted by the Woodstock Police Department, McHenry County State's Attorney's Office, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and the McHenry County Child Advocacy Center.
