Better place to live and raise a family

It has been my pleasure to have known Patrick Kenneally for almost a decade now. I first met Patrick when he was first hired as a prosecutor in McHenry County. As with all new prosecutors in our county, he was tested quickly.

The first time I saw him handle a hearing left a lasting impression. I can no longer remember who the defense counsel was on that case, but it was clear that he thought having a new attorney handling the prosecution meant that he had an advantage.

So the defendant's attorney called his own client to the stand and provided a very brief direct examination. What happened next is something that prosecutors and defense attorneys alike would later come to expect routinely from Patrick. It was a textbook cross examination, and he eviscerated the defendant's credibility in about five minutes.

Patrick is as quick witted and fast thinking as you will find in a prosecutor, but he also, and I think more importantly, has a less common ability to always see the bigger picture. I have seen him show mercy when appropriate, and also go, unwaveringly, against almost unwinnable odds because he believed justice demanded it.

I believe he will not only make a great state's attorney, but also will make McHenry County a better place to live and raise a family.
