Vera Bradley store coming to Woodfield Mall
Vera Bradley is opening a new store at Woodfield Mall April 1.
The retailer is a designer of women's handbags and accessories, luggage and travel items, eyewear, stationery and gifts. Founded in 1982 by friends Barbara Bradley Baekgaard and Patricia R. Miller, the brand's trendy designs have developed a following.
Vera Bradley, headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has more than 150 retail stores across the U.S.
Local stores are found at malls including Deer Park Town Center, Chicago Premium Outlets, Orland Square Mall, Oakbrook Center and Westfield Old Orchard in Skokie.
The company sells its products through two its direct and indirect segments. The direct business consists of sales of Vera Bradley products through the company's full-line and factory outlet stores in the U.S., verabradley.com, eBay and its annual outlet sale in Fort Wayne, according to GlobeNewswire.
The indirect business consists of sales of Vera Bradley products to approximately 2,700 specialty retail locations, substantially all of which are located in the United States, as well as select department stores, national accounts, third party e-commerce sites, its wholesale business in Japan and third-party inventory liquidation.
Net revenues for 2015 were about $509 million, according to GlobeNewswire.
