Schaumburg Boomers put call out for Tennessee tryout

Baseball prospects looking for a spot on rosters in the Frontier League or the American Association can showcase their skills at a special tryout camp in Tennessee next month.

Schaumburg Boomers coaches will join four Frontier League teams and the Gary SouthShore RailCats of the American Association to run the March 26 auditions. The other clubs scheduled to participate are the Evansville Otters, Lake Erie Crushers, and Joliet Slammers,

The camp, which will be held at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tenn., is open to all free agent players ages 18 and older. There is a $75 fee, payable in cash only upon registration on March 26. Players must supply their own equipment, including wood bats and catching gear.

Position players are asked to register at 9 a.m., with pitchers at 11 a.m.
