Kids Expo offers fun and games in Schaumburg
Mad science, a petting zoo, inflatable bouncers, singing and dance contests, and surprise visits by characters from Looking Glass Friends Entertainment are among the highlights of this weekend's 2016 Kids Expo at the Schaumburg Convention Center.
The event, hosted by Family Time Magazine, runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28.
"We have added so many great attractions for this year's expo. Families will not want to miss this event," said Caroline O'Connell, Family Time Magazine's publisher and creator, as well as the founder of the Kids Expo.
Among the new attractions this year is the Chicago Herpetological Society, which will feature a large selection of reptiles and snakes for kids to check out. Fellow new exhibitors The Fun Ones Party Rentals and Game Truck Chicago will have rides and activities, include a five-person climbing wall, The Spin Jammer, and laser tag.
Donley's Wild West Town, which will have an exhibit where kids can pan for gold.
Other attractions worth checking out are a three-hole golf putting course, bubble soccer, face painting, arts and crafts, Legoland Discovery Center and performances from the likes of the Trinity Irish Dancers, Spotlight Youth Theater, Rock n' Kids and more.
The expo also will include giveaways, including a scooter, Maru & Friends dolls, and a bike.
Admission is $9 for adults and $6 for kids 12 and under. The convention center is located at 1551 Thoreau Drive in Schaumburg.
