Would GOP delay chance to pick Scalia successor?

Presidential candidates and their parties campaign vigorously to win control of our American government, executive, legislative and judicial. Presently, the Democrats have only the presidency, yet now with the death of Anthony Scalia, there is the moment all presidents and parties want to choose a justice to their political liking. Our Constitution permits this: Article II, Section 2.

Obama is president with two majority election wins, yet wouldn't it be nice with a year left, the Republicans say, if he would for the sake of American harmony, just wait until after the election for a new justice? If Obama isn't nice, stalemate is their prediction.

What Republican would delay a chance to choose a new justice? No one, not even Anthony Scalia who was a strict constructionist and in his Supreme Court rulings on the Constitution did what was written by our Founding Fathers.
