Naperville woman appointed to Illinois Museum Board

Gov. Bruce Rauner has appointed Naperville resident Donna Sack, a former official with the Naper Settlement, to the Illinois State Museum Board.

In a new release, the governor's office cited Sack's nearly 30 years of museum and association management experience.

She is currently the executive director of the Association of Midwest Museums. From 1993 to 2011, she was the director of visitor services of the Naper Settlement in Naperville.

Sack said Friday that she is honored to be appointed to the board. She said that a priority for her will be the reopening of the Illinois State Museum.

"The Illinois State Museum is a vital resource for the city of Springfield, as well as for the state of Illinois," she said. "It also has a wide variety and diversity of collections."

Stack said she spent "wonderful years" with the Naper Settlement. "I think it's a fabulous facility for the city of Naperville, and I enjoyed it very, very much," she said
