Carol Stream man facing child porn charges

A 38-year-old Carol Stream man was being held in DuPage County jail Friday night after being charged with four counts of possession of child pornography, authorities said.

Denis J. Kornichuk of the 400 block of Timber Ridge Drive was taken into custody after an investigation by police from Glendale Heights, Carol Stream and the DuPage County sheriff's office.

Police said investigators were led to Kornichuk through evidence developed as part of a child pornography probe. Authorities executed a search warrant at his home Friday morning and seized computer equipment that contained numerous files depicting child pornography.

Kornichuk was not home at the time but was arrested later in the day.
