Some students should be removed from school

Responding to Elgin Area School District U-46 minimizing suspensions, the new process may work with some, other students are hard and fast in their resolute bad behavior.

I know of two separate elementary schools, one in Elgin, one in South Elgin where outright bullying, bad behavior, physical contact and verbal abuse, continue to occur and the students are not suspended, and they should be. Mere slapping of wrists and consultation does not alleviate patterned bad behavior among these students. And after repeated incidents, the students should either be expelled or transferred to a school that specifically handles behavior disordered children.

As a bus driver who transported BD students, I can say that allowing repeat offenders does little nothing to dissuade them, and letting them remain in their classes only exasperates future classroom disruption.
