Brazil's Bellucci reaches quarterfinals in Ecuador

QUITO, Ecuador (AP) - Third-seeded Thomaz Bellucci of Brazil defeated Albert Montanes of Spain 6-2, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals of the Ecuador Open on Wednesday.
Bellucci will be up against No. 8 Pablo Carreno Busta in the last eight. The Spaniard defeated countryman Inigo Cervantes 6-7 (5), 7-6 (2), 6-2.
The Quito tournament opens the month-long clay-court season across Latin America with subsequent events in Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo.
Australian Bernard Tomic is seeded No. 1 in Quito followed by Spain's Feliciano Lopez.
