Cantigny Park throws a Minions Party
Banana!
If that catches your attention, you're either a parent of young children or you're a Minion yourself.
Minions - those small, yellow and mischievous characters from Universal Studios' "Despicable Me" franchise and last summer's blockbuster "Minions" movie - provide the inspiration for an upcoming family evening at Cantigny Park.
Tickets are available for Cantigny's Minions Party from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, at 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton. The event includes a screening of "Minions" in the Visitors Center Theater, crafts and Minion-themed treats, including, of course, bananas.
Minion characters will mingle with partygoers for photos, and guests can take pictures wearing their favorite Minion hat in a photo booth. A balloon artist will entertain as well.
Kids are encouraged to come in costume, and every child will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of four Minion prizes.
Tickets are $20 per person; kids 2 and younger are free. Tickets purchased after Friday, Feb. 19, if available, are $25. Parking is free for ticketholders. Reservations are required and can be made by contacting (630) 260-8162 or cantigny.org.
Cantigny Park is open 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday in February. The park resumes seven-day operations beginning March 1.
