Mount Prospect to Upgrade Commuter Parking Payment System
This spring, Mount Prospect will upgrade the parking payment system at the Village-owned commuter parking lots. The new system will provide a higher level of customer convenience with new parking kiosks and a mobile parking payment system.
The new kiosks will accept coins, bills and credit cards. The Village debit card will no longer be accepted at the new machines, so users are encouraged to use up their card balances by the beginning of March.
As part of the upgrade, the Village will also implement the Whoosh! mobile parking payment system. Whoosh! is an app that allows users to skip lines at the kiosks and pay for their parking with their mobile devices from their car or the train.
Another option available to commuters is the Easy Park program, which offers a monthly parking pass. Instead of paying for parking at the automated pay machines on a daily basis commuters will be able to purchase a pass through the Finance Department for a cost of $30.
