CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago White Sox have claimed outfielder Daniel Fields off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Fields spent most of last season with Detroit's Triple-A affiliate. He appeared in one game for the Tigers on June 4 and recorded his first hit in his major league debut. He was claimed off waivers by Milwaukee on Sept. 10 and by the Dodgers on Dec. 7.

With Thursday's move, Chicago's 40-man roster stands at 38.
