Blackhawks to honor Kane for club-record point streak
CHICAGO (AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks plan to honor star Patrick Kane for his club-record 26-game point streak.
The team says it will pay tribute with a video and presentation by general manager Stan Bowman before Sunday's game against Ottawa. Kane's streak from Oct. 17 to Dec. 13 was the longest by an American-born player and the longest by anyone in the NHL since the 1992-93 season.
Kane was also announced Saturday as one of four captains chosen by fans for the All-Star Game. He is the NHL's leading scorer with 23 goals and 33 assists for 56 points in 39 games.
Kane was the subject of a three-month investigation into a rape allegation in August that failed to produce enough evidence for charges to be filed against him.
