States need to restrain the feds

With excessive regulations and a national debt approaching $20 trillion, Americans are well aware that our federal government has become drunk with power. The U.S. Congress will never reform itself with Constitutional amendments mandating term limits or balanced budgets.

The only solution we have left is what's known as an "Article V" convention. Article V of the U.S. Constitution authorizes the state legislatures to call a convention for the limited purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution. If 38 states ratify the proposed amendments, they become part of the Constitution.

The Convention of States Project is trying to get enough states together to call a convention for the purpose of proposing amendments that impose fiscal restraints and limitations on the power of the federal government.

Be sure to ask your Illinois state legislators if they support an Article V convention to put some restraints back on our federal government.
