Joel Quenneville's daring decision pays off in Blackhawks win

BUFFALO, N.Y. - One minute into a make-or-break two-man power play in the waning minutes of Saturday's game against the Sabres, Joel Quenneville had seen enough. The Blackhawks couldn't break through with the equalizer, so Quenneville took a drastic step. He pulled Corey Crawford in favor of an extra attacker, giving the Hawks a rare 6-on-3 edge.

"It's almost too many guys on the ice," Patrick Kane said. "You don't really know what to do."

Well, they figured it out. And just in time, too. Artemi Panarin found a wide-open Kane behind Sabres goalie Chad Johnson with less than a second left in the two Sabres penalties - and just 33.5 seconds left in the third period - to send the game to overtime in the Hawks' eventual 3-2 shootout victory.
