Elderday Center receives $5,000 Giving Tuesday match award from The Retirement Research Foundation

Elderday Center in Batavia is the recipient of a matching grant award of $5,000 from The Retirement Research Foundation for its participation in Giving Tuesday on Dec. 1, 2015.

The Retirement Research Foundation generously agreed to match all donations made to Elderday Center on Giving Tuesday up to $5,000, and the Elderday supporters met the goal to achieve the full matching grant.

Elderday Center's mission is to provide therapeutic day programming for older adults to insure safety during the day, provide respite for caregivers, slow the progression of cognitive decline, maintain health, and decrease depression and anxiety. These donations and the matching award will provide an immediate positive impact on local seniors who attend the Elderday program, equating to added independence, more time with loved ones, and more treasured memories.

Thank you to The Retirement Research Foundation for the generous award and for partnering with Elderday Center in support of local seniors in the Tri-Cities.

As the only community-based not-for-profit adult day program in the Tri-Cities, Elderday Center uses evidenced-based techniques to engage senior citizens affected with these diagnoses.

The Elderday Center program offers a wide variety of services and activities in which clients can participate: daily exercise, intergenerational activities, games, crafts, special entertainment, lively discussions of current events, music and pet therapy, a hot lunch and two nutritious snacks, daily nurse monitoring, professional case management, and much, much more.
