Schaumburg A.M. Rotary supports holiday party for abused children

Schaumburg A.M. Rotary provided funding and volunteers for the December 15 holiday party hosted by The Children's Advocacy Center of North & Northwest Cook County (CAC) at its Hoffman Estates facility for its clients and families.

The party featured food and beverages, face painting, cookie decorating, crafts, a one-on-one visit with Santa and holiday gifts.

By using a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach that includes expert interviewing, specialized counseling and family support services, CAC's goal is to provide children who have disclosed either sexual or physical abuse the opportunity to tell their story ONE TIME only and in doing so reduce further trauma experienced by these children. On average CAC provides assistance to more than 650 children and adolescents and their families in more than 38 local communities.

Following the party Rotarians enjoyed holiday cheer at Schaumburg's Chandler's Chophouse.
