Lisle kindergartners support the troops

After learning about leadership in the classroom, kindergarten students in Chesterbrook Academy preschool in Lisle took on an initiative.

The kindergartners collected personal care items, snacks and other items and delivered them, along with handwritten cards, to Operation Support Our Troops-America in Naperville, which assembles and sends care packages to members of the American military.

The students delivered the items in early December, then stayed to help assemble packages and tour the Operation Support Our Troops facility.

Operation Support Our Troops' mission is to support the morale and well-being of American forces by providing comfort, resources and education to them and their families, both while they are deployed and after their return.

The program sends comfort packages, along with personal letters, cards and notes of support.
