Schaumburg police start video-sharing program

The Schaumburg Police Department is introducing a new video-sharing partnership program that will allow property owners to share video with the police with the intent to reduce crime and aid in the apprehension of criminals.

The program will be available to any property owner within the village who has private video surveillance that can record public areas such as streets, sidewalks and parking lots.

To register for the program, users must submit a registration form to the police department that is available on the village's website at ci.schaumburg.il.us/PSAFETY/pSafety/Pages/VideoSharingPartnershipProgram.aspx.

For questions regarding the program, contact Schaumburg Police Investigations Division Commander Kurt Metzger at kmetzger@villageofschaumburg.com or (847) 348-7339.
