See holiday classics at The Arcada Dec. 21-23

The Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St. in St. Charles, will offer three days of classic holiday movies with free hot chocolate.

There will be free showings of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, and Tuesday, Dec. 22; "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" at 3:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21; and "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22.

The evening shows will be $5 at the box office.

At 7 p.m. Monday, see the 1989 PG-13 film "National Lampoon's Family Vacation," with Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo, and based on a short story, "Christmas '59" written by John Hughes.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, enjoy the 1954 holiday musical comedy "White Christmas," starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Vera-Ellen and Rosemary Clooney and featuring music by Irving Berlin, including a new version of the holiday standard "White Christmas," which Bing Crosby introduced in the earlier film, "Holiday Inn."

On Wednesday, Dec. 23, there will be a double feature with the 1992 film "A Muppet Christmas Carol," starring Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge and Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy as Mr. and Mrs. Cratchit, at 5 p.m. and the black-and-white original of director Frank Capra's Academy Award-nominated "It's a Wonderful Life," starring Jimmy Stewart, Donna Reed, Gloria Grahame and Lionel Barrymore, at 7 p.m.
