Suburban mayors named to National League of Cities committee

Three Northwest suburban mayors have been named to the 2016 Transportation and Infrastructure Services Committee by the National League of Cities. Al Larson of Schaumburg, Karen Darch of Barrington and Bill McLeod of Hoffman Estates will work on the TIS committee, which develops policy positions on transportation issues, including planning, funding, safety and security of public transit, streets and highways, aviation, railroads and ports. "I have every confidence that these newly appointed committee members will be outstanding advocates for Illinois," said Brad Cole, Illinois Municipal League executive director. The NLC works in partnership with the 49 state municipal leagues and is a resource and advocate for the more than 19,000 cities, villages and towns it represents.
