Cohen needs lesson on NRA's position
"Rat-a-tat-tat", the print representation of machine-gun fire punctuates the second paragraph of holier-than-everyone left-winger Richard Cohen's personalized blaming for the murders in San Bernardino on the NRA membership (me) and Wayne LaPierre.
So what if he ignores the fact that the NRA does not support open sale or ownership of automatic fire weapons (machine guns), which has been restricted by stringently controlled federal licensing for decades?
If Messrs. Cohen and Obama can't bring themselves to call this heinous act terrorism, can they at least concede that it, and use of these modified weapons, was criminal?
I assume that California law restricts straw (third party) purchases of firearms, and federal law definitely prohibits modification to auto-firing.
These were not law-abiding NRA members. These were criminals, and I look forward to learning more about the original purchaser/mechanical tinkerer's past and motives as the investigation unfolds.
As far as Mr. Cohen's uber-righteous finger pointing making things personal, that's fine with me if he could just provide his readers with one common courtesy. Be accurate.
