Library parking lot expands

Patrons of the Aspen Drive Library in Vernon Hills should now have an easier time finding a place to park, thanks to a newly completed lot expansion. The project, which wrapped up Dec. 3, added 50 spaces to the lot, bringing the total to 119. The project cost the Cook Memorial Public Library District $375,000, less than what officials initially thought the effort would cost. The library has operated at 701 Aspen Drive since 2010. Officials are developing a building expansion proposal, too.
