Sinatra Celebration at Friendship Village

Residents of Friendship Village had a weeklong celebration in anticipation of what would have been the 100th birthday of Frank Sinatra. "Many of the residents here grew up with Frank Sinatra. He has lots of fans living here and we were excited to help them celebrate the Chairman of the Board," said Donna Brown, lifestyles activities manager.

Fabulous live entertainment kicked off the observance, featuring John Boda presenting Old Blue Eyes, a multi-media presentation of Frank Sinatra and his songs. This was followed by crooner Jeffrey Deutsch performing A Tribute to Frank Sinatra. Friendship Village's dining services department planned themed Italian meals with some of Sinatra's favorite foods. Two of his most popular movies were shown: From Here to Eternity and On the Town. The celebration also included arts and crafts projects, discussions and more.

"It was a very enjoyable, multi-media celebration of one of the all time musical greats," said Brown.
