20 percent of eligible voters did so in Indiana election
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana's municipal general elections drew a combined turnout of 20.5 percent of eligible voters
Secretary of State Connie Lawson announced the turnout figure for the Nov. 3 elections Tuesday. She says nearly 560,000 of the 2.7 million eligible Indiana voters cast ballots.
She says Ohio County in southeastern Indiana had the highest turnout at nearly 64 percent. Five counties - Delaware, Hamilton, Hendricks, Johnson and LaGrange - each had turnouts of less than 10 percent.
Only voters in cities or towns with an election this year or in a school corporation conducting a construction or tax levy referendum were eligible to vote.
Voter statistics for each county can be viewed online at www.in.gov/sos/elections/2015_Muni_Turnout.pdf .
