12-year-old girl dies 3 weeks after being run over by lawnmower
ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) - A central Indiana prosecutor says a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly run over by a lawnmower three weeks ago has died.
Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings tells The (Anderson) Herald Bulletin the girl died Thursday at an Indianapolis hospital after being removed from life support.
The girl's legal guardian, 45-year-old Denell Roberts was arrested last month on a felony charge of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury. She is free after posting a $20,000 bond. A trial date of April 5 has been set.
Defense attorney Bryan Williams said Roberts has been cooperating with the police and isn't guilty of anything.
