Bloomingdale showing documentary about helping veterans

In honor of Veterans Day, Bloomingdale VFW Post 7539 will show the award-winning documentary "Veteran Nation: The Mission at Home Has Just Begun."

The event is from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Bloomingdale Public Library, 101 Fairfield Way, Bloomingdale.

"Veteran Nation" is about how the United States has treated its veterans and their families, the challenges facing the newest generation of veterans, and how the American people can best serve those who served. The goal of the film is to inspire Americans to give back to those who gave their all. The film includes combat footage, rare historical photographs, and interviews with veterans and experts.

After the 30-minute video, attendees will discuss what the community can do to work with veterans and their families.
