Bills QB Taylor expected to start against Miami, coach says
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) - Buffalo Bills coach Rex Ryan expects quarterback Tyrod Taylor to start against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday after missing two games with a sprained left knee.
Ryan provided the update on Monday, after the team returned to practice following its bye week.
Taylor has been out since spraining his left knee in a 14-13 win at Tennessee on Oct. 11. Backup EJ Manuel has struggled filling in, and committed three turnovers, two of which were returned for touchdowns against Jacksonville.
Taylor was still wearing a brace on his left knee in practice.
The Bills (3-4) have lost two straight and coming off a 34-31 loss to Jacksonville in England two weeks ago.
Ryan said Harvin has rejoined the team but was unsure of his playing status. Percy Harvin has missed two straight games with a hip injury. His whereabouts have been a bit of a mystery after he did not travel with the Bills to London.
Sammy Watkins (left ankle) did not play against the Jaguars and has missed three of the past four games. He was present for the stretching period before heading off the field once the practice opened.
Ryan said it's too early to tell whether Watkins can play on Sunday.
Backup running back Karlos Williams returned to practice for the first time since missing the past three games with a concussion.
Ryan ruled out starting defensive tackle Kyle Williams for Buffalo's next two games. He was hurt in a 34-21 loss to Cincinnati on Oct. 18.
The Bills enter a difficult stretch in which they'll face three straight division rivals and play five of their next seven on the road.
