New Medical Director Appointed to Covenant Village of Northbrook

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 30, 2015 - Covenant Village of Northbrook, a faith-based, not-for-profit, continuing care retirement community administered by Covenant Retirement Communities, today announced that Dr. Victoria Braund has been appointed medical director for Brandel Health & Rehab, a rehabilitation center affiliated with the senior living community. Dr. Braund is scheduled to start immediately.

"I am very excited to join Brandel Health & Rehab at Covenant Village of Northbrook," says Dr. Braund. "As a geriatrician, it is important for me to work with an organization that provides excellent service to seniors, especially as they transition through various levels of care, which is exactly what Brandel does best."

As medical director, Dr. Braund's duties include medical care to patients as well as providing teaching for nurses and other staff. Additionally, her administrative duties will include developing initiatives and protocols to effectively manage patient health and improve outcomes.

Dr. Braund is the director of the Division of Geriatric Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem and has an office at Glenbrook Hospital. She is also medical director of Symphony of Evanston. Additionally, Dr. Braund is clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, and is a certified medical director in long-term care.

"Dr. Braund has dedicated her career to assisting her patients through their unique health challenges. She has a proven history of leadership, and brings a wealth of expertise in geriatric medicine that will better serve our patients and families."

Dr. Braund attended the University of North Dakota for undergraduate and medical school. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals in Fargo. She then moved to Chicago where she completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at the University of Chicago.
