Judson partners with 100 Club of Chicago to support families of fallen civic workers

(ELGIN, Ill. - October 15, 2015) Judson University joins 16 other participating schools that have partnered with the 100 Club of Chicago, a nonprofit organization that provides support for spouses and children of law enforcement officers, firefighters and paramedics of Cook and Lake County who lose their lives in the line of duty.

Judson University is the first evangelical Christian college to be invited to the 100 Club University Partners Program.

"We have many alumni who currently serve or have served as first responders, so this is both an honor and an opportunity to recognize those who serve all of us," said Judson President Dr. Gene C. Crume.

As part of the alliance with the 100 Club of Chicago's Educational Assistance Program, two full-tuition scholarships will be available to qualifying students at Judson annually.

This is a distinction that leadership does not take lightly.

"All Judson students bring their own unique stories and experiences when they join the Judson community," Dr. Crume added. "As a Christian university, we seek to support how God is working in each person's story. So, we are humbled by the opportunity to provide a loving and supportive community to a student whose love one was a first responder."

The 100 Club Educational Assistance Program is available to the spouses and children of fallen first responders for higher education, including trade and vocational schools, colleges and universities. Provided grants and scholarships are for both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Since 1970, the 100 Club has provided educational assistance to more than 500 children and spouses.
