Hear about 'The Friendship of Orson Welles and Roger Hill' Oct. 28

In celebration of actor Orson Welles' 100th birthday, local author Todd Tarbox comes to the Palatine Public Library, from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 28, to share the fascinating story of the seven-decade friendship between his grandfather, Roger Hill, and Orson Welles.

Tarbox's book, "Orson Welles and Roger Hill: A Friendship in Three Acts," is the basis for this amazing program that begins with Welles' early life in 1926 at The Todd Seminary for Boys in Woodstock, and finishes with his death in 1985. This captivating story gives a true sense of Welles' voice and celebrates the actor's friendship with his mentor, teacher, and adviser, Roger Hill, who eventually became the headmaster of Welles' beloved school.

Orson Welles and his relationship with Roger Hill was the longest-lasting friendship during the actor's lifetime. The author gives us a glimpse of the true sense of this great actor, director, and creative innovator of the theater. Books will be available for purchase.
