FSO announces Pam Blatter appointed to Ill. Dept. of Public Health's long-term care facility advisory board

Friendship Senior Options is pleased to announce that Pam Blatter has been appointed to the Illinois Department of Public Health's Long Term Care Facility Advisory Board. Blatter is the director of nursing for Briarwood Healthcare at Friendship Village of Schaumburg and interim director of nursing for its sister community GreenFields of Geneva, both of which are sponsored by Friendship Senior Options. Briarwood is the recipient of the prestigious five-star rating by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

As a member of the board, Blatter will be representing her constituency in the State of Illinois, in an advisory capacity on matters of policy affecting administration of the Nursing Home Care Act and in the development and revision of rules.

Blatter, who has been with Friendship Village for four years, was asked by Leading Age of Illinois to submit her application for the prestigious board position. "They recognized Friendship Senior Options for providing best practices to our residents," Blatter said. "They were looking for someone who would best represent the geriatric constituency for the State of Illinois."

A registered nurse and certified nurse executive, Blatter has more than a decade of experience in long-term care as well as MDS certification, wound care certification, and master's degrees in cardio/pulmonary management.

"Pam is a great example of how Friendship Senior Options pursues excellence in all areas of operation," said Stephen Yenchek, president and CEO of Friendship Senior Options. "We are very proud of her for having been recognized by top leaders in the industry. She is clearly an asset to Friendship Senior Options, and will be an asset to the Illinois Department of Public Health's Long Term Care Facility Advisory Board."
