Track: Kansas Speedway (oval, 1.5 miles).

Race distance: 400.5 miles, 267 laps.

Last year: Joey Logano raced to the last of his five 2014 victories.

Last week: Logano won at Charlotte to secure a spot in the third round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup. He has four victories this year.

Fast facts: The playoff field was cut from 16 to 12 after the third race. It will be reduced to eight after the sixth race and to four after the ninth. Drivers get a spot in the next round with a victory. Points are reset after each round and the title will be decided by finishing order in the Nov. 22 finale at Homestead. Logano tops the standings. Defending series champion Kevin Harvick is second, six points back. Martin Truex Jr. is seven points behind, followed by Denny Hamlin (-8), Kurt Busch (-9), Carl Edwards (-9), Jeff Gordon (-11), Brad Keselowski (-13), Ryan Newman (-19), Kyle Busch (-23), Dale Earnhardt Jr. (-32) and Matt Kenseth (-45). ... Gordon, retiring after the season, has a track-record three victories. He won the first two Kansas races in 2001 and 2002 and took the 2014 spring event. ... Jimmie Johnson won in May at the track. He dropped out of the Chase in the first round.

Fast facts: Kyle Busch is making his 12th start of the season in Joe Gibbs Racing's No. 54 Toyota. He has four victories this year and a series-record 74 overall. Matt Kenseth is driving JGR's No. 20 car. ... Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano also are racing. ... Chris Buescher leads the standings, 26 points ahead of defending champion Chase Elliott and 34 ahead of Regan Smith.

Last year: Tony Schumacher raced to two Top Fuel victories in two days, taking the rain-delayed Carolina Nationals and the Texas event. Courtney Force won in Funny Car, Dave Connolly in Pro Stock, and Andrew Hines in Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Last event: Antron Brown won the Keystone Nationals in Pennsylvania on Oct. 4 for his third Top Fuel victory in the first three Countdown events and his sixth overall win of the season. Jack Beckman won in Funny Car, Chris McGaha in Pro Stock, and Hines in Pro Stock Motorcycle.

Fast facts: The event is the fourth in the six-race Countdown playoffs. The top 10 in each class qualified for the playoffs. Brown leads the Top Fuel standings, 94 points ahead of Schumacher. Del Worsham has a 16-point lead over Beckman in Funny Car. Worsham won the first two Countdown events. Erica Enders leads in Pro Stock, 72 points ahead of Greg Anderson. Enders won the Countdown opener. Hines has the Pro Stock Motorcycle lead. He has won twice in the Countdown.
