Leave behind PACs for homeless shelters
Recently, I had occasion to visit Las Vegas for a sporting event. The thing that left the biggest impression was not the hotels, not the night life, not the scenery at night.
The impression was made by the Vietnam vet, in the Denny's parking lot, who was dressed in rags asking for a few bucks; the woman I saw on a busy street corner picking through the garbage can; and the tents and boxes set up under the highway north of town where a lot of these people live. I've had this scene before, and it hasn't changed. I'm not singling out Vegas, as this is going on everywhere.
The thing that sickens me most is seeing the political clowns on stage slinging mud at each other. CNN said that $5 billion will be spent on these ridiculous campaigns, that get most of these people nowhere when they talk and talk and talk about helping the vets, the poor and the homeless, and nothing happens.
Trump has a hotel right down the street from these people, I'm sure he knows them all. Not.
I think it would be a great thing for the people behind these PACs and super PACs to set up homeless shelters, and kitchens for these desperate people, instead of leaving the $23 million that Gov. Walker won't be needing anymore.
John Boehner finally gave into the moral tug of war going on inside his head, I didn't think he had it in him. Thank you, Pope Francis.
