Roselle man charged with sexually abusing teen

A 23-year-old Roselle man was ordered held on $75,000 bail Wednesday on charges he sexually abused a teenage girl for about a year and a half beginning when she was 15.

Marco Torres-Chimal was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse after the girl told witnesses he abused her while she slept from the fall of 2013 through spring of this year, said Cook County assistant state's attorney Alyssa Grissom.

Torres-Chimal, who has no criminal background, faces up to seven years in prison if convicted. Probation is also an option.

He next appears in court on Nov. 5.
