Music-in-the-Box, a child-centered music education program for very young children, presents the following 6-week classes at the Adler Center:
Music Maestros: Taking the next step in instrument or vocal readiness is the goal of Music Maestros. All children will play theory games to enhance their musical intelligence within an engaging parent/child musical classroom. Using rhythm instruments with purpose, understanding beats and rhythms and basic dynamic and tempo games create the perfect learning environment for the preschool aged child. Ages 2 ½ to 5 years. Begins 11/4.
Group Introduction to Suzuki Piano: In this six-week preview class, we call upon the methods of Dr. Shinichi Suzuki and his engaging style of teaching children to learn through love. In Music-in-the-Box Group Introduction to Suzuki Piano, we will explore learning the language of music through all of our senses: our ears, our eyes, and our bodies. Parents, Children, and Teacher combine in this preview class to showcase the unique Music-in-the-Box style of transitioning music and movement students to instrument learning. Each week we will explore the nuances of instrument learning through the Suzuki Twinkle Variations. There will be no expectation of practice or remembering songs; no recital, nor need for kit purchases. Ages 3 ½ to 6 years. Begins 11/4.
