Prospect wraps up boys and girls divisional cross country crowns

It turned out to be a day of clinchers for the Prospect cross country programs.

The boys claimed victories over Rolling Meadows and Loyola on Thursday in Mt. Prospect.

The 15-50 outcome against the Mustangs finalized Prospect's first Mid-Suburban East Division title since the 2010 season, and the program's 16th overall divisional crown.

The Knights' five places were taken by Luke Filipic (16:08), Sean Sanaghan (16:21), Matt Cozine (16:23, Max Crowninshield (16:26) and Jack O'Donnell (16:29).

The Knights also topped Loyola 20-43. The Ramblers' Paolo Tiongson had the top overall finish in 15:57.

The girls program won in similarly dominant fashion against the same opponents.

Prospect topped Rolling Meadows 15-50 and defeated Loyola 15-48.

The result against Meadows gives Prospect's girls team its eighth straight MSL East triumph, and the 12th division title in the program's history.

Junior Brooke Wilson led a perfect 1-through-5 finish for the Knights against both foes.

Following Wilson (19:36) were Marissa Valentini (19:50), Julia O'Grady (19:52), Aileen White (19:54) and Mikayla Olsen (20:00).

Rolling Meadows' top effort came from Gabby Sanchez in sixth (20:09).
