Police identify IU student, suspect in murder-suicide

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - Bloomington police have identified an Indiana University student and her live-in boyfriend found dead in an apparent murder-suicide.

The (Bloomington) Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1VsY3eB ) police say 21-year-old Yaolin Wang, a junior at Indiana University, died of apparent stab wounds, and 20-year-old Chuanlin Xiao, who previously lived in the state of Washington, was found hanged near her body. Both were found Wednesday night in an apartment complex common area.

Police say the couple had lived together at the complex for about a month. The victim and suspect had been in a relationship for about six months.

IU associate vice president for international services Christopher Viers says Wang had transferred from North Seattle Community College in Washington. She was originally from Jiyuan city in China's northwestern Henan province.

The investigation is still ongoing.
