About the Authors

Both authors burst onto the scene in 2014 with their debut YA novels, Side Effects May Vary (Julie Murphy) and Say What You Will (Cammie McGovern). With their sophomore efforts, Julie and Cammie are poised to breakout, defying YA tropes and bringing two refreshing voices to the YA landscape.

In Dumplin', we meet Will, a self-proclaimed fat girl who has always been at home in her own skin. It's only when Will's feelings for the cutest boy in school are reciprocated that her confidence is shaken. In a market where the definition of beauty is terribly narrow, Dumplin' introduces an important voice to the teen audience, breaking the mold on every level.

Cammie McGovern writes about situations and characters that are not often seen in teen fiction. In A Step Toward Falling, Cammie has once again created characters with memorable voices, especially Belinda, a character with developmental disabilities, who has a voice that rings true in such a genuine way that it shines through the page to capture the imagination and hearts of readers.
