Barrington Countryside fire district cuts finance director position
The Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District board has eliminated the position of finance director, and Director Kim Mueller's final day will be Sept. 30. The job was created in 2013 to help the fire district develop a financial structure as it transitioned into an independent department, but trustees now believe their local CPA firm can handle the day-to-day accounting. "Kim Mueller is an exemplary professional who played a major role in establishing the BCFPD as an independent public safety organization," said board President Dr. Thomas C. Long. "Her commitment to establishing strong accounting procedures, standards and controls has set the district on a strong path that will continue to serve taxpayers well in the future."
