Fox River Grove to flush hydrants starting Sept. 28

During the week of Sept. 28, the Fox River Grove water department will be flushing, inspecting and flow testing fire hydrants throughout the village.

It is done twice yearly.

Hydrant flushing helps ensure all fire hydrants are in good working order and improves water quality.

There may be some water discoloration and pressure fluctuation at the time of flushing and for a short time afterward.

If your water is discolored, residents should run the cold water until it clears, usually only a few minutes.

You may wish to avoid doing laundry during the hydrant flushing program.

Look for the "Hydrant Flushing" signs in your neighborhood. Visit www.foxrivergrove-il.org.
