Bears waive third-string QB Fales
The Bears waived third-string quarterback David Fales Tuesday afternoon but, if he clears waivers, he could be back on the practice squad, where the Bears currently have one spot available.
The 6-foot-1, 219-pound Fales was the Bears' sixth-round (183rd overall) draft choice in 2014 out of San Jose State. He made the original 53-man roster after an excellent showing in the final preseason game in which he completed 14 of 18 passes for 131 with 2 touchdowns, no interceptions and a 134.0 passer rating.
Fales spent 12 weeks on the practice squad last year and was active for four games but did not take a snap.
