5k race, wellness expo Thursday in Mount Prospect
The Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce and the Mount Prospect Park District have partnered to bring a 5k run/walk to the Kensington Business Center Thursday, Sept. 17.
The event is accompanied by a Wellness Expo featuring professionals from Northwest Community Healthcare, the Mount Prospect Park District, the River Trails Park District, the Prospect Heights Park District, Innate Concepts Chiropractic, Advanced Physical Medicine & Therapy, and Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi.
The location for parking, check-in, start and finish is near the former ITT Technical Institute property, 1401 Feehanville Road. Walk-in registration and check-in begins at 4:30 p.m., followed by a warm-up hosted by event sponsor, Northwest Community Healthcare, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The Wellness Expo will take place before and after the run.
The race is $25; $15 for children 12 and under. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runners and the top corporate team. Walk-ins are welcome. There will be credit card processing on-site for day-of registration.
