If clerk goes to jail, what about others?

A county clerk in Kentucky is in jail for refusing to obey a federal law on gay marriage. If this is acceptable, shouldn't mayors of sanctuary cities go to jail for disobeying federal law on illegal immigration?

What about state officials in states that legalized marijuana against federal drug laws? One is for religious reasons; the others are political.
