No problem. Just let everyone in to U.S.
It was interesting to read the article entitled "After Me: Our Immigrant History" by Catherine Rampell. Her article basically states that America, unlike all other countries in the world, has never welcomed immigrants and that large factions of the entire country have always been and always will be anti-immigrant.
She basically states that our immigration policies and procedures are meant to discourage and weed out those immigrants deemed to be undesirable. As her last line states "after me, no more please," is unfortunately a persistent refrain in American history.
Well, we can assuage her dissatisfaction with our immigration policies and practices by simply eliminating the naturalization and immigration department and allow anyone and everyone freedom to enter and reside in the country without any restrictions.
No more screening of individuals or groups of any kind. No more requirements, quotas, or limitations on the number of source of anyone immigrating to the United States of America. This would resolve all the current issues regarding illegal immigrants; there simply would be no such thing as an illegal immigrant.
This new policy would have the added benefit of saving millions if not billions of dollars for the employees of the immigration and naturalization department and branches all over the U.S. They could all be fired immediately.
It would also save the cost of the proposed fence along the border with Mexico. Now we could finally attain the benefits of huge numbers of immigrants from all over the globe bringing all their skills, knowledge, and diverse cultures and religions. I am sure Catherine Rampell will support and help implement this change in our immigration policy as soon as possible; it would certainly address her complaints and concerns and would be consistent with her viewpoint.
