St. Edward takes 4th at Timothy Christian tournament

St. Edward's girls volleyball team went 3-2 Saturday to take fourth place at the Timothy Christian tournament in Elmhurst.

The Green Wave (6-2) defeated Chicago Latin, Chicago U-High and Westmont but lost to Timmy Christian and IC Catholic.

Dominique Washington had a big day for the Wave with 65 kills and 25 digs, Megan Barth added 22 kills and 26 digs while Samnatha Boydston (16 kills), Maegan Gross (41 digs), Gabriella Tripicchio (66 assists, 15 digs) and Emily Stapay (16 digs) also contributed.

At Christian Liberty: Westminster Christian went 1-3 at the Christian Liberty tournament, beating Mooseheart and losing to Willows, St. Benedict and Christian Liberty. Leading the Warriors (2-5) for the day were Grace Bickford (12 kills, 8 digs, 7 aces), Kristen Mason (18 aces, 4 kills), Melanie Izquierdo (7 kills, 7 digs, 7 aces) and Rediat Ephrem (17 assists).
