Girls volleyball: Hampshire 5th at Rockford East

Hampshire 5th at Rockford East: The Whip-Purs beat Belvidere and Rockford Christian, split with Elgin and Streator and lost to Rockford East to take fifth place at the Rockford East tournament Saturday. Leaders for Hampshire included Maggie Seagren (16 kills), Olivia Magnussen (11 kills), Louie Perelta (21 kills), Hannah Dalby (37 assists) and Allie Peters (34 assists).

Kaneland at Wheaton North tourney: The Knights beat Montini and Yorkville and fell to Glenbard West at the Wheaton North tournament. Katie Jablonski had 44 service points and Hollie Fedderly added 31 to lead Kaneland on the day.
