Civic Engagement, Lake Michigan, and Our Environmental Future

48th Annual Conference- League of Women Voters Lake Michigan Region

What can we do with our families and friends to improve the environmental health of our towns, especially as the global climate is changing? Join successful activists and experts as they share success stories and opportunities for action. Speakers will discuss positive aspects of engagement to help our environment and to strengthen our democracy through nonpartisan civic activity. Elected officials, including US Congressman Robert Dold and State Representative Laura Fine, plan to be in attendance.

When: Friday September 25, 1pm (for Field trips) through Saturday September 26, 3 pm.

Where: Wyndham Suites Hotel, 1400 Milwaukee Avenue, Glenview and some field sites

Who: Friday Banquet Speaker: Dr. Abigail Derby Lewis, The Field Museum - 7:30 pm

Saturday Luncheon Speaker: Molly Flanagan, Alliance for the Great Lakes; - Noon
